11:49am start - higher mudflats exposed; water level dropping
12:13 end

Tweeters,
What a difference a day makes! Temp at least 20 degrees lower than yesterday, and that familiar cold south wind whipping through Turning Basin #3 (TB3). Actually spotted a MARSH WREN in the cattails across TB3 to the south. Watched three MEW GULLS performing aerobatics in the wind as they dropped down to join the other 32 already on an exposed mudbank. I haven't seen Glaucous-winged Gulls pull such graceful maneuvers as the Mews did. Perhaps a function of smaller size and bodyweight, coupled with relative winglength?

No Ospreys, still.

Note: The Peregrine Falcon I noted arriving at about 12:10pm yesterday, and perching on the west-bank power tower was still in the same location when I left work at 3:37pm.

Birds seen during this scan include the following:
Canada Goose (3; two flyovers and one snoozing near the goose exclusion area)
Gadwall (6; 3 pairs)
Mallard
Bufflehead (3; 2 males/1female)
Double-crested Cormorant (2)
Mew Gull (35)
Glaucous-winged Gull (10)
Rock Pigeon (15)
American Crow (4)
Bewick's Wren (2)
Marsh Wren
European Starling (33)
Red-winged Blackbird
House Finch (2)

May all your birds be identified,
