HI:
FYI

Hard as it is to believe, birders have been declared a political force to be
reckoned with by newspaper columnist and political commentator Molly Ivins.
Read all about it:

"Beware the wrath of the birding legions."

I'm so unaccustomed to reading about birding in the mainstream media that I
had to read the pertinent parts of this column twice to be certain I'd
interpreted it correctly.

Regrettably, the Arizona Daily Star (based in Tucson and read throughout the
birding paradise of southeastern Arizona) chose to subvert Molly's
intentions and snub birders by retitling this piece "Anti-environment
policies are no joke."

This is not the first time Molly has cast birding in a positive light in her
column:

"Texas, warts and all"
