Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday April 1. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at
503-233-3976.

The LUCY?S WARBLER continues to be seen at Sheila Chamber?s feeders in
Brookings.

GREATER YELLOWLEGS, ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLERS, BLACK-THROATED GRAY WARBLERS,
VAUX?S SWIFTS, PACIFIC-SLOPE FLYCATCHERS, and YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRDS
arrived during the week.

A first winter GLAUCOUS GULL was at Yaquina Bay March 27. On March 26 two
MOUNTAIN BLUEBIRDS were at Nescowin. The wintering BULLOCK?S ORIOLE was seen
again March 28 at a feeder in Astoria.

On March 31 a CASSIN?S VIREO was at Mt. Tabor Park in Portland. Two YELLOW
WARBLERS were at Jackson Bottom in Hillsboro March 27. The MOCKINGBIRD near
the Scappoose Airport continues to be seen, but it is elusive. A MOCKINBIRD
was reported from North Eugene March 25. A CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRD was at a
feeder near Eugene March 29. On March 31 a BREWER?S SPARROW was at the Fall
creek Dam southeast of Eugene.

The large burn on the east slopes of Santiam Pass has attracted a number of
woodpeckers, including several BLACK-BACKED WOODPECKERS. A male COSTA?S
HUMMINGBIRD was in Bend March 29. On March 26 an early FRANKLIN?S GULL was
south of Burns. Several SAGE GROUSE were displaying March 30 along Foster
Flat Road a little over a mile past the usual lek spot.

That?s it for this week.
