On Saturday, May 1st, I took part in the the Grays Harbor Shorebird
Festival's field trip to Point Grenville. The trip was led by Marcus
Roening and Tom Schooley. We had a full bus. The weather was amazing with
partly cloudy skies and light winds. We looked and looked for Tufted
Puffins on one of the grass covered rocks, but were unsuccessful in finding
any. We did have nice views of a Peregrine Falcon and all three comorants.
Also, we found at least two Black Oystercatchers on the rocks. Here's the
complete list:

Common Loon
Red-throated Loon
Western Grebe
Pelagic Comorant
Brandt's Comorant
Double-crested Comorant
Surf Scoter
Osprey
Bald Eagle
Peregrine Falcon
Black Oystercatcher
Glacous-winged Gull
Western Gull
Ring-billed Gull
Common Murre
Pigeon Guillemot
Rufous Hummingbird
Crow
Violet-green Swallow
Northern Rough-winged Swallow
Barn Swallow
Orange-crowned Warbler
Black-throated Gray Warbler
Wilson's Warbler
Savannah Sparrow
White-crowned Sparrow
Song Sparrow
Brown-headed Cowbird
Purple Finch
American Goldfinch

Good birding,
