Hi Tweeters,

Today at Cavanaugh Ponds in Renton, one Black Headed
Grosbeak singing. I would have to agree they must
have arrived last night. Incredible so many sighting
in one day!

I also finally saw my first Wilson's Warbler of the
season. The highlight of my visit was seeing 4-6 Vaux
Swift fly down low to the ponds. I am assuming for a
drink. Their body feather weren't as slicked down as
the swallows making them looking a bit scruffy. Best
and closest looks I have ever had of them and with so
many swallows easy to see how distinctive they are.
Their visit was a fairly brief one. Swallows included
Violet Green, Tree, and Northern Rough Winged.

I haven't been to Cavanaugh Ponds in while. My target
I was hoping to at least hear was not present, or just
very quiet, not even a whit... That would be the
Swainson's Thrush.

The ponds are off Highway 169. 174th Street, one way
in, park to the left of the mobile home park and enter
the Cavanaugh Ponds park from the parking lot.
