On April 16, Ruth Fischer reported the return of HOUSE WRENS to her nesting
boxes along the Yakima River near the Chamna Nature Preserve.

The cattail marsh along Snively Road in West Richland near Twin Bridges had
a BLUE-WINGED TEAL as well as Green-winged and Cinnamon Teal on April 21
observed by Nancy LaFramboise. The next day Nancy found a SORA at the
marsh on Logston Road off Highway 240.

Dennis Rockwell reported a NASHVILLE WARBLER at Two Rivers Park in
Kennewick on April 23.

On April 27, Laurie Ness reported a WILSON'S WARBLER in her North Richland
yard.

Also on April 27, Nancy LaFramboise found WESTERN and CLARK'S GREBES at the
Yakima Delta.

Horn Rapids County Park was active with migrants last spring. So, checking
this year has paid off. On April 28, there was a HAMMOND'S FLYCATCHER, a
GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW and an EVENING GROSBEAK there. Other migrants since
have included CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRD, LEWIS'S WOODPECKER, BULLOCK'S ORIOLE,
YELLOW WARBLER, LINCOLN'S SPARROW, AND LAZULI BUNTING.

Also on April 28, Laurie Ness found a WARBLING VIREO, a WILSON'S WARBLER
and an "Empidonax" flycatcher that was tentatively identified as either a
Dusky or Hammond's Flycatcher in North Richland.

Bateman Island had returning BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAKS today. Nancy
LaFramboise also found a total of 6 SEMIPALMATED PLOVERS at the Yakima Delta.
