Hi Tweeters,

Bill and Nancy LaFramboise had a great time and lots of woodpecker success at the Nile burn last weekend. Nancy asked me to post the directions just in case some of you want to make it part of your weekend plans.

The Nile Road leaves Highway 410 about 30 miles west of Yakima. It makes a loop, returning to Hwy 410. On the east end is the Woodshed Restaurant. On the west end there is good habitat between the highway and a bridge which is about 200 yards from the highway. Follow the Nile Road until you come to Clover Springs Road, which Forest Road 1600. It is about 1.5 miles from the east end and .8 miles form the west end. Follow Clover Springs Road about 8.5 miles. You will see the burn on the left side of the road. Explore to your heart's content.

There is lots of good habitat along FR 1600. Much of the first four miles is private property, with lots of signs, so just bird from the road in that area.
