Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday May 6. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at

On April 29 a MOORHEN was reported from Klamath Marsh NWR. A ROSE-BREASTED
GROSBEAK was at Redmond May 3.

Heavy movements during the week included many SWAINSON?S THRUSHES, WILSON?S
PHALAROPE, BLUE-WINGED TEAL, CHATS, and flycatchers.

On May 5 a YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRD, SOLITARY SANDPIPER, and two
BLACK-NECKED STILTS were near Cape Blanco. Five ROSS?S GEESE were with five
WHITE-FRONTED GEESE April 30 on the Bayocean Flats at Tillamook Bay. An
AVOCET was at the South Jetty of the Columbia River May 1.

On May 1 a late WHITE-THROATED SPARROW was at Mt. Tabor Park in Portland.
Several LAZULI BUNTINGS are now being seen at Powell Butte Park in Gresham.
Two BLACK-NECKED STILTS are now at Jackson Bottom in Hillsboro.

A LARK SPARROW and two WESTERN KINGBIRDS WERE AT DETROIT FLATS April 30.
Good numbers of CHATS are now at the EE Wilson Wildlife Area.

A CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRD and a GOSHAWK were at Eugene April 29. A SWAINSON?S
HAWK was over the Eugene Airport May 5.

On April 30 an EMPEROR GOOSE was at Miller Island Wildlife Area in the
Klamath Basin.
