Hi Tweeters,

American White Pelicans "invaded" Yakima County about eight years ago. Their numbers have increased every year. The flock seen resting in the Yakima River at the south end of the Yakima Canyon by several Tweets recently was also there last year. Pelicans seem to be most common in Yakima County in the oxbow sloughs of the Yakima River between Zillah and Mabton. They are the most commonly reported species by non-birders who call to contribute info for my newspaper article.
