A small triumph yesterday--the first Bullock's Oriole (female) that I've
seen in our yard, on the west side of Long Lake outside Lacey. Still no
great abundance of the rarer passerines, but I attribute this success to our
continuing to landscape the yard with native plants and to the running water
we now have in a small double pond.
