Tweets,

At Ocean Shores jetty during low tide on Monday, May 17, 7-8pm, hundreds of
feeding COMMON TERNS were being harrassed by up to ten PARACITIC JAEGERS. (I
had 4 in my binocs simultaneously.) Other species of interest present
included:
Common Loon
Sooty Shearwater
Double-crested Cormorant (1)
Wandering Tattler (4)
Black-legged Kittiwake
Common Murre
Rhinoceros Auklet

I was unable to make an Arctic Tern out of any of the Commons. Hundreds of
additional flocking birds were active much further out, especially when a
fishing vessel passed. It appeared a number of marine waterfowl and
rock-dwelling sandpipers have migrated or were hiding out elsewhere. Or I
was too distracted by the tern-jaeger spectacle. 120+ species for the day,
from Tenino to Tokeland to Ocean Shores. Great fun!

Good birding!
