Tweets - I led a Seattle Audubon trip to Marymoor this morning (an easy trip
for me, since no separate scouting trip was required :) )

There was heavy overcast all morning, but it didn't do more than think about
misting on us. A touch too much wind, and a touch too little light, but it
wasn't too bad.

Highlights:

Green Heron Many, many sightings, 3+ birds
Wood Duck Still 8 ducklings at RC pond
Virginia Rail Tok didok call below weir (I saw the bird)
WESTERN KINGBIRD Two flycatching in East Meadow (great looks)
Bullock's Oriole Male at Rowing Club

Plus we had lots of looks at more common birds.

At the NE corner of the mansion area, we spotted two GOLDEN-CROWNED KINGLETS
wrestling on the ground. After watching them wail on each other for 30
seconds, I walked up to them, afraid their claws were locked together and
that they couldn't get apart. When I got right next to them, they
disengaged, took flight, and landed six inches to either side of another
man's feet. Their orange crests were raised to the fullest, and they were
still calling each other names while panting loudly. Then they flew off in
opposite directions to the nearest 2 trees.

We had 2 (or 4?) LONG-TAILED WEASEL near the south end of the Dog Area.
First we saw an adult inside the dog area twice. Then just south of the Dog
Area we saw another weasel carrying an animal in its mouth. It crossed the
path and disappeared into the blackberries, then a few seconds later it came
back empty handed (I mean empty mouthed). It then returned AGAIN, carrying
a second animal, and disappeared into the blackberries. At first we thought
it had prey, but when it got the second one, we figured it might be a mother
moving cubs/kittens/whatdoyoucallbabyweasels. We caught another glimpse of
it moments later carrying an animal from one blackberry clump to another.

We ended up with 56 species for the morning.
