Birders,

We were up early this morning (5/21) to a special treat of seeing a willow
flycatcher feeding from perches just outside our home. We were able to see
the markings quite well, as it consistently returned to an open perch. I
don't know if it is just passing through or if it will stick around. There
is some potentially good habitat for it nearby.

We just noticed, while looking it up online, that this bird is considered a
federal species of concern, partly due to cowbird parasitism. I don't
recall ever seeing this bird in Connell before, though cowbirds would
certainly not be strangers around here.
