Method: Up to eight 9m mist nets are placed in mixed Oregon
Crabapple/Twinberry/Spruce along the the upper Neawanna River,
Seaside, Clatsop Co. OR. Captured birds are measured, ringed
with USBBL numbered metal bands and released. Data on time of

Notes: A very pleasant morning. Best birds of the morning were 2
WESTERN WOOD-

2 more juvenile RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRDS, one male, one female. Also first
juvenile
SONG SPARROW of the season. Saw CEDAR WAXWINGS carrying nest material
and captured
one with a brood patch.

Notable recaptures include a SWAINSON'S THRUSH first banded 06-02-2002
as a
second-year and a male PURPLE FINCH first banded as a hatch-year 08-26-2002.

Also of note: 3 SWAINSON'S HAWKS flew over between 09:15 and 09:30. It
is an exceptionally rare event to see even one for the north coast of Oregon.
