Tuesday May 25, 2004:
"Out of Town RARE BIRD ALERT "
A female RUFF has been sighted in Duncan off Beverly Street behind the Golf Driving Range.
Wear rubber boots---it's very wet.
Three BLUE-WINGED TEAL were seen at the Nanoose Estuary near the Church Camp.
One GADWALL and two GREEN WINGED TEAL were seen at the Englishman River Estuary in Parksville.
Two male BARROW'S GOLDENEYE were spotted at the Little Qualicum River Estuary just north of Qualicum Beach.
A HOUSE WREN, WILLOW, PACIFIC-SLOPPED, OLIVED-SIDED and HAMMONDS FLYCATCHERS were seen at the Rivers Edge subdivion area off Kaye Road in Parksville.
Several BLACK SWIFT were seen above Kenwill Drive in north Nanaimo.


Monday May 24:
One GREAT HORNED OWL and two CINNAMON TEAL were seen at Hemer Provincial Park in Cedar.

Sunday May 23:
Four BLUE-WINGED TEAL were sighted at Legacy Marsh in upper Lantzville.
Seven WILLOW FLYCATCHERS were seen at McGregor Marsh in north Nanaimo.

Saturday May 22:
"RARE BIRD ALERT"
A female WESTERN BLUEBIRD was seen on the right side of McGregor Marsh.
A BAND-TAIL PIGEON was spotted in the 2600 block of Beaver Creek Crescent in Nanaimo.
CEDAR WAXWINGS, WESTERN WOOD PEE WEES, SWAINSON'S THRUSH, RED-BREASTED SAPSUCKERS, PACIFIC-SLOPPED FLYCATCHERS, BAND-TAILED PIGEONS, COMMON YELLOWTHROAT and WILSON'S WARBLERS were seen off Wrens Road and Erminskin Avenue in Parksville.

Friday May 21:
Twenty-seven MARBLED MURRELETS were seen off Neck Point in Nanaimo.
A WESTERN WOOD PEE WEE was spotted at Westwood Lake in Nanaimo.
COMMON YELLOWTHROAT, CEDAR WAXWINGS, RED-BREASTED NUTHATCH, PIDED-BILLED GREBE, MARSH WREN and YELLOW WARBLERS were seen at Diver Lake in Nanaimo.
A SWAINSON'S THRUSH was seen along Lost Lake Road in Nanaimo.

Thursday May 20:
A CASIAN TERN was spotted at the Nanaimo River Estuary in south Nanaimo.
