Gary and Tweets,

Nikon's customer service has been pathetic in recent years. Even retailers have complained. : ( Also, it is my understanding that the Superior E's are NOT waterproof. They say that the Venturer LX is. However, the Venturer LX is a relatively heavy piece of equipment. While I once ruled them out because of that I have recently noticed the steadying benefit of the weight. I have not tried birding with them all day.

I would also suggest visiting www.betterviewdesired.com. Also, trying them out should be an absolute requirement. Different bins work better fo different people.

By the way, the roll down eyecups are a plus for some people and a negative for others. The "old" Elites have the roll down style and the "new" model has the twist up/down. You might want to try them both if you can find them. That is unless you already know which you want.

After all of the work, enjoy using them!
