Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Wednesday May 26. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at
503-233-3976.

On May 21 a PHILADELPHIA VIREO and a NORTHERN PARULA were in fields. On May
25 a GREAT-TAILED GRACKLE, a ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK, and a late
WHITE-THROATED SPARROW were there. A possible female COSTA?S HUMMINGBIRD was
at Fields May 23.

A GREAT-TAILED GRACKLE was at Page Springs Campground May 23 and a
BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER is being seen at Malheur NWR Headquarters. There is
a report of four EURASIAN COLLARED-DOVES at Rome. On May 21 a possible
PRAIRIE WARBLER was reported near Marcola, north of Springfield.

On May 20, 41 BLACK SWIFTS were at New River, south of Bandon; 48 were there
May 25. A SAGE THRASHER was on the North Spit of Coos Bay May 23. A late
SOLITARY SANDPIPER was at the Beaver Creek Marsh, south of Newport May 25.
On May 21 four CLARK?S GREBES were among a flock of WESTERN GREBES off
Yaquina Head, north of Newport. A ROCK WREN was on the Bayocean Spit at
Tillamook bay May 20. On May 25 three SWANSON?S HAWKS passed over Seaside.
That day an AVOCET was at the South Jetty of the Columbia River.

A singing RED-EYED VIREO was on Sauvie Island May 24. On May 22 a CALLIOPE
HUMMINGBIRD visited a West Linn feeder. On May 24 a BLACK-THROATED SPARROW
was at Fish Lake at McKenzie Pass. On May 23 a NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH was in
the willows at Lost Lake in Santiam Pass. A flock of WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS
is being seen at the summit of Santiam Pass, mainly at the Santiam Sno-Park..

On May 22 two ROSS?S GEESE were near Grass Valley. A BLACK-THROATED SPARROW
was in Bend May 24. On May 20 a RED-NECKED GREBE was found on the Hines
Sewage Ponds and has remained. The first state NIGHTHAWK was reported May 24
at Fields. That day an ACORN WOODPECKER was at Malheur NWR Headquarters.
