After fairly exhaustive side by side comparison with $1000-$1500
binoculars we have selected the Leupold 10x42 waterproof and the Pentax
10x42 DCF WP. We found it difficult to tell the difference between
these fairly inexpensive binos and the "Big Boys". The ultimate test
was a recent trip to the Peruvian Amazon with high temperatures,
humidity and daily rain.

We were in the field from dawn to dusk everyday helping with research
on the large Macaws at the Tambopata Reserch Center in south-eastern
Peru. This pair of binoculars were in our hands constantly with no
fogging or any other problems under these extreme conditions.
