Tweets,

Two singing Lazuli Buntings were present on Fri morning, May 27, near Tenino. 2 or 3 miles west of Tenino turn off Old Hwy 99 north onto Melville Rd. This road marks the west border of the expansive Rock Prairie/Dan Darr Farm (as locals know it--now called Alpacas West). Drive past the private airstrip. The birds are singing (between rain squalls) in the Scotch Broom on the right-hand side near the northwest corner of the prairie. Up to three singing birds were present May 17. Other birds of interest include House Wren, Chipping Sparrow, W Meadowlark, possibly Bullock's Oriole (contact me for specific directions: 360-264-2462), and (some years) possibly Vesper Sparrow.

Good birding!
