According to Bob Boekelheide writing in the Olympic Peninsula Audubon
Society's Harlequin Happenings, 300 Caspian Terns nested on Dungeness Spit
last year and there is an observer from an Oregon University that is
montitoring them this year (fide Pam Sanguinetti, Refuge Biologist). Since
the Spit is a National Wildlife Refuge they may be able to find some peace
there.
