12:18pm start - water level high with just the edges of the higher
mudflats showing (8:28 high tide - 11.3ft; 13:43 low tide - 7.4ft)
12:35pm end

Tweeters,
Solid overcast, lots of rain (not showers), and almost more nets (2)
than bird species at Turning Basin #3. 'Tis cold and damp enough that I
should have worn gloves today: blue fingernails after only a brief
survey today.

The female BELTED KINGFISHER patrolling the south side of TB3 landed on
one of the lower limbs of a weeping willow that's on that side. Higher
up in the same tree, which may be its favorite grooming and snoozing
spot, was a GREAT BLUE HERON. This which could be the same bird that's
been hanging here for a while.

It appears that the cormorants are coming to feed here again, after
their summer hiatus. Today there were six in the TB3 area, with four of
them feeding in a small group.

No pigeons! No crows! No starlings! Fewest species seen for some time.

Birds seen during this scan include the following:
Mallard (5)
Double-crested Cormorant (6)
Great Blue Heron
Glaucous-winged Gull (4)
Belted Kingfisher

May all your birds be identified,
