This is the Vancouver Natural History Society's Rare Bird Alert for
SUnday, October 31st, sponsored in part by Wild Birds Unlimited,
with stores in Vancouver and North Vancouver.

Featured bird is HARRIS'S SPARROW.

Sightings for Sunday, October 31st:

At Iona, a HARRIS'S SPARROW was seen in blackberry bushes at the
birder's gate. It was still present this afternoon.

Also at Iona, 2 REDHEAD and 14 RING-NECKED DUCK in the outer ponds.
No sign of SNOWY OWL or AMERICAN TREE SPARROW today.

At Blackie Spit were 3 SNOW BUNTINGS, 5 MARBLED GODWIT, and 1 LONG-
BILLED CURLEW.

At Serpentine River mouth in South Surrey, an AMERICAN AVOCET was
seen 100 metres upstream from the railway bridge.

In Delta, the ASH-THROATED FLYCATCHER continues along 72nd
hedgerow. A WESTERN GULL was also seen nearby. NORTHERN SHRIKES
were seen at the foot of 64th and 72nd streets and another was seen
along 80th street. At the foot of 72nd street was an AMERICAN
KESTREL.

At Reifel were 3 EVENING GROSBEAKS.
