does any one know of a study looking at declines in
native cavity-nesting birds (in urban settings) being
corelated with the presence of non-native (eastern)
gray squirrels?
I put up Flicker and Screech-owl nest boxes last
spring, and BOTH have been taken over by Eastern Gray
squirrels.
I am considering altering the local squirrel
population in order to increase local bird nesting
sucess ;)
