Hi All:

I just listened to Birdbox for the first time in at least a year (haven't
had much time to chase rarities the last couple of years) and heard Tom
Aversa's report that Jack Bettesworth had seen a Clark's Nutcracker at
Discovery Park today.
About 11:00 this morning, I saw what appeared to be a Clark's Nutcracker
flying from one conifer to another across the street. My first thought was
"What would one be doing in east Ballard???" Second thought was "What else
would look like one, especially in flight?" If I had been thinking more
about birds and less about my post-election funk, I might have thought about
the Mountain Chickadees and all the speculation that this may be a big
irruption winter for species that normally aren't seen here. But, I forgot
about it until tonight.
After hearing the report on Birdbox, I decided I should pass my observation
on.
