Hi all,
This morning John English and I drove up to Juanita Beach Park and relocated the Am. Black Duck w/o any difficulty. We walked south from the main lot to the beach and scanned the large number of Coots, Mallards and Wigeon. The Black Duck was close to shore and easily located. At one point he/she? swan directly past us. Great views! Bright, rich purple speculum with no white trim, clear line of color change at the base of the throat and slight eyeline. Part of the flock, including our guest of honor, later paraded clear up to the parking lot. You could have seen it w/o getting out of the car!
We later stopped at the Hundred Acre Woods, where, I am chagrined to report, we added number 88 to the site list, a small flock of...........uh,....rock pigeons......
Good Birding!
