Dear Tweeters,

The planned meeting place to start the WOS trip on
November 20 is the Farmhouse Inn parking lot on
Highway 20. Let's say 7:30 AM. From the Farmhouse Inn
we will head to Rosario Head and look for seabirds.

The Farmhouse Inn is between Burlington and Anacortes
on State Highway 20. It is on the south side of the
highway, at the junction of SR20 and LaConner-Whitney
Road. The south part of the lot is the usual
rendezvous spot.

Today I found a Herring Gull and a Western Gull on the
Dahlstedt Road near Green Road, Butler Flats (Skagit
County). They were in a 1000+ gull flock, mostly
Ring-billed and Glaucous-winged, with a few Mew,
feeding in a field that smelled strongly of manure.

Also, at the Burlington Mall were two American
Kestrels. One had a freshly-killed vole. These birds
were hunting in the grassy median between the mall and I-5.

=====

Yours truly,

Gary Bletsch
