I observed a Great Egret on the docks in the Quilcen Marina. It was quite successful at fishing from the dock. It caught 3 fish in less than 15 minutes. A boat owner in the marina says it has been hanging around for about three weeks. With the good fishing it may hang around for awhile. At least one can hope it will. One early Trumpeter Swan was also on the bay near the mouth of the Big Quilcene River.
