....................,...Sunday: rather cloudy and cool, but no rain.
While hiking the upper crest trail and the lower trail around the lake,
I "ran into" a group of 8-9 GOLDEN -C ROWNED KINGLETS. As I stood by
the lakeshore of this heavily wood ed area, these tiny birds flittered
aroungd me and looked me over --some not more than 2 feet
away---apparently unperturbed by this human. in their domaine. All but
1 oranged-crowned male were yellow-crownwd females.(....there may have
been more males around which I couldn't see).
.........................Otherwise, pertty quiet birdwise. 1 HARRIER
HAWK and an assortment of MALLARDS, and some hybrids on the
lake......along with some jumping fish!!!!
