Hi Tweets,

What started out as a short trip to Eatonville turned into 3 hours of bird watching.

Checking Clear Lake: one Bufflehead and lots of coots.

Exploring Alder Lake: 4 very handsome male Ring Neck Ducks, 2 Canadian Geese flying with 2 Cackling Geese, 2 Bald Eagles, very cozy and almost touching while perched in the highest fir tree, Killdeer in perfect plumage, Great Blue Heron, noisy Kingfisher, one Raven with a tail feather missing, a small mixed flock of Chestnut Backed Chickadees, Black Capped Chickadees, Brown Creeper, and Ruby Crowned Kinglets. Song Sparrows, one Spotted Towhee, one Steller's Jay, many crows and 5 gulls floating near the dam to far to tell what kind (even if I did know my gulls). And one daring garter snake, fat and healthy, laying on asphalt.

I discovered the Eatonville treatment pond: 5 males, 2 females Greater Scaup, 3 Mallards, one hybrid, 2 female Northern Shovelers, and 50 plus Bufflehead.
