Tuesday November 09, 2004:
A large flock of BLACK, WHITE-WINGED and SURF SCOTERS, LONG-TAILED DUCKS, BUFFLEHEADS and HARLEQUIN DUCKS were seen at the Little Qualicum River Estuary.

Monday November 08:
A COMMON REDPOLL was seen in the 1300 block of Ivor Road in Cedar By The Sea.
ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRDS are coming to feeders in the 200 block of Wedgeplace and Cathers Landing in Nanaimo.

Sunday November 07:
Six Sunday birders went on the Sunday Bird Walk to the Nanoose Estuary and found the following forty-five species:

Saturday November 06:
Highlights of Nanaimo Young Field Naturalists field trip to the Nanaimo River Estuary, in south Nanaimo, were
two large flocks of BARROW'S GOLDENEYES in the Nanaimo River, three RED-TAILED HAWKS, one NORTHERN HARRIER, one LINCOLIN'S SPARROW and two WESTERN MEADOWLARKS.
PILEATED WOODPECKERS are coming to suet feeders in the 900 block of Blyth Avenue and in the 5200 block of Arbour Crescent in Nanaimo.

Friday November 05:
ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRDS are coming to feeders in the 5100 Block of Rutherford Road in Nanaimo.

Thursday November 04:
ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRDS are coming to feeders in the 7400 block of Lantzville Road.

Wednesday November 03:
A MOURNING DOVE was seen at the Nanaimo River Estuary in south Nanaimo.

Friday October 29:
A TRUMPETER SWAN was spotted at the Nanaimo River Estuary.
One EURASIAN WIGEON was seen at the Englishman River Estuary in Parksville.


Wednesday October 27:
A SNOWY OWL was seen along the tide line at Columbia Beach for about one hour before some crows chased it away.
There have been several reports of SNOWY OWLS on the lower mainland, at Port ALberni, and on the west side of Vanvouver Island.

This Sunday Bird Walk November 14, will be going to the Little Qualicum River Estuary.
Meet at the Bird Store at 9:00 a.m. or at the Viewing Tower at Highway 19 A and Garret Road in Qualicum Beach at about 9:30 a.m.
