Hello Tweets,

Today my mother and I birded several portions of Oceans Shores along with a few stops made at other locations earlier in the day including a visit made along Brady Loop Rd. and at the Hoquiam STP. Our visit to Ocean Shores was quite productive along with the added presence of many people due to the clam digging and fishing season. After leaving Ocean Shores at 5pm there were large groups of cars driving to Ocean Shores extending to Hoquiam. The weather remained cloudy all day,but calm and water conditions remained high due to a very high tide,which flooded many areas from the Ocean Shores Jetty to Damon Point. A extensive list of notable species encountered from selected locations and times:

Brady Loop Rd. complex 11:15am-11:45am

16 Tundra Swans(our personal first of the season for this location)

Hoquiam STP 12:15pm-12:30pm

1 adult Snow Goose(first observed with 3 larger Canada Geese on the Hoquiam STP,then flying and resting on the eastern portion of the Bowerman Basin Airport amongst large numbers of Canada Geese,including 5 "Dusky"Canada Geese)

1 Northern Pygmy Owl(our last species of the day and less than 1/2 mile than we observed along this route on 31st of October,so perhaps it is the same individual bird or another bird) Unlike the bird observed on the 31st of October the bird this evening was observed on the north side of the highway perched atop a small evergreen tree.
