Hello Tweets,

This afternoon George Gerdts and I re-located the Blue Jay in Port Hadlock
reported yesterday by my brother Dan. We actually found it a block East of
Third and Maple. Apparently it has been in the area for over a week, so
maybe this Jay will stick around for a while. It seemed perfectly content in
this little neighborhood

It was very windy up in the Hadlock area so we decided to head back to the
Kitsap Peninsula for the few hours of remaining daylight. Off of Salisbury
Point boat launch we had a Yellow-billed Loon. It was an adult bird mostly
in basic plumage but with some limited black and white checkering still
remaining on its back. Perhaps this could be the same bird that Doug and
Pipper Watkins had about a month ago up at Foulweather Bluff.

We also enjoyed an adult Merlin hunting in the town of Port Gamble. It made
finding passerines difficult, but it gave us a big thrill when it buzzed our
heads in a failed attempt at a House Sparrow.

Good Birding.
