Hi hi -
Today I made a trip over to Washtucna to try for the Black-throated
Green Warbler. In 4 hours of looking, from 7:00 - 11:00, I had no
luck. While there, I did enjoy the company of three other birders,
also hoping for a glimpse at the lost warbler. The weather hasn't
been great for moving on, we speculated, so unless one of the
accipiters got it perhaps there still is hope this bird is still
around, but maybe off in the neighborhood trees.

Some other trip stops & birds:
Bassett Park & surrounding neighborhood, Washtucna, Adams Co. [7-11]:
[Delorme p. 55, B/C-6, WA ABA p. 374]
Blue Jay - 2 heard, 1 of them seen in the brush around the farm below
the hill you climb by the pool.
Mountain Chickadees - 2, I think
Bohemian Waxwing - one [thanks, Charlie!]
Varied Thrush - 2 or more in the thicker brush
Bewicks Wren - 2
Canyon Wren - several on the bluff
Coopers Hawk & Red-tailed Hawk - 1 each [and a Sharpie, seen by others]

Palouse Falls SP:
[Delorme p. 55 C-7, WA ABA p. 375]
Very quiet - a few Flickers, Meadowlarks, Juncos, Goldfinch & a Kestrel.

Lyons Ferry Park, Franklin Co.,
[Delorme p. 55 D-7, WA ABA p. 375]
Pacific Loon - very close to shore, near the peninsula
American Tree Sparrows - about 5-6, in the brush right at the base of
the peninsula
Western Grebe - 5
Pied-billed Grebe
Mountain Chickadees - 6 or more, near the park's bathrooms
Red-breasted Nuthatch - w/ the MOCH
[nb: the park itself is closed for the season, but a boat launch
access is open just north of the park entrance. From there, most of
the park area is accessible w/o crossing any obvious boundaries]

Bateman Island, Kennewick, Benton Co., 3:00-4:30 [boy it gets dark
early these days!]
[Delorme, p. 39 B/C-6/7, WA ABA p. 347]
Eurasian Wigeon - among the largest flock of AMWIs on the water
Common Loon
Horned Grebe - many

Good day, even without the twitch -
