11:50am start - water level high on outgoing tide (9:32 high tide -
12.4ft; 14:57 low tide - 7.8ft); no mudflats visible
12:17pm end

Tweeters,
Fog starting to clear with sun forthcoming (glare on the water), cool,
with the water level dropping at Turning Basin #3. A week in Florida
meant no TB3 reports; however, no noticeable changes since I left,
except for the return of a wintering BALD EAGLE. Today, this adult bird
came in under cover of darkness (6:50am) and took up station in the
tallest of the alders at the restoration area to the southwest of my
spot on the east bank of the river. Early attendants were
Glaucous-winged Gulls, which were replaced later in the morning by
American Crows, which gave up after a time. The eagle's there, preening,
as I type this entry.

Otherwise, not much stirring except for a long COMMON MERGANSER fishing
near some old pier-pilings on the east bank of TB3.

Birds seen during this scan include the following:
Domestic goose
Common Merganser
Great Blue Heron
Bald Eagle
Red-tailed Hawk
Glaucous-winged Gull (11)
Rock Pigeon (33)
Belted Kingfisher
American Crow (6)
Song Sparrow
House Finch (2)

May all your birds be identified,

Denis DeSilvis
