I did not see the Cattle Egrets that Dave Goeke reported yesterday during my flight this morning over nearby fields. They are probably using some of the small pastures in the residential neighborhood just east of SR24 about 4 miles south of Othello. I did see one Cattle Egret just north of I-90 heading south down the Winchester Wasteway. This location is about one mile north of the westbound Winchester Rest Area. There was also a group of 11 Greater White-fronted Geese at an isolated wetland at the west side of Potholes Reservoir.
