Yes, in my experience Bald Eagles sightings in this area are very common. I
love that drive this time of the year because the absence of foliage allows a
clear view to perching raptors.

The west side of Pine Lake is just up the hill from East Lake Sammamish, on
212th. We often see Bald Eagles around here, though far less this year than
in past years. Today, in fact, two gulls got into a bit of a tussle with one,
and forced him into the water where he floated for about 10 minutes.
Neighbors were concerned the Eagle might become waterlogged, but he eventually flew
up and away.

Another interesting thing, for the past two days we've had an Opsrey on the
lake, perching and fishing. Guess he's decided to stick around for a while
longer.
