Chris Charlesworth just posted a sighting of a Northern Hawk Owl and suggested that there may be "an invasion in the works". It may be a good idea for WA birders to keep a sharp eye peeled for both Hawk Owls and Great Grey Owls this winter.

A Mr. Bob Williams from Minnesota indicated in a posting on a Yahoo! Groups hotline for Santa Barbara County, CA, that there appears to be an invasion of Hawk Owls and Great Grey Owls in Minnesota shaping up.

Could be a great winter for these beauties.
