This isn't much, but thought I'd mention that we saw a ROUGH LEGGED
HAWK and 2-3 REDTAIL HAWKS on our way home from Spokane on Saturday.
They were along I-90, to the West of and fairly near Spokane. If you
are interested in REDTAIL HAWKS, they commonly winter to the North of
Washtucna, along 261 (headed toward Ritzville). They like the hilly
areas and hang out on the thermals over the "eyebrows" (the ridges
along the roads). It would be unusual for there not to be 2-3 of them
there during the winters.

We saw MOUNTAIN CHICKADEES at our suet feeder in our backyard today.
Birders are welcome to contact me by email as to directions to find
our house. There were JUNCOS, HOUSE FINCHES, and, I am pretty sure,
some GOLDFINCHES visiting today also. I haven't taken the time to sort
through all the various small brown birds the last few days - too
busy. I do enjoy the male HOUSE FINCH that comes to our window feeder,
bold as brass for his meals. :)
