A male BLACK-THROATED GREEN WARLBER was found 13 Nov in Washtucna, Adams Co
WA by Bill and Nancy LaFramboise. The bird was in Bassett Park. On 14 Nov,
birders also found a GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW, COMMON REDPOLLS, an AMERICAN
TREE SPARROW, and a couple of BLUE JAYS. It was not seen on 16 Nov.
Washtucna is along WA 260 just south of WA 26. You can sniff out the park in
the center of this small town. WA DeLorme 55, BC-6.

On 16 Nov Dave Beaudette reports a HUTTON'S VIREO along the Loop Trail at
East Wenatchee,Douglas Co WA. To get to the place, from the 19th Street
parking lot go to the Loop Trail and head south. Go through the Porter's
Pond Nature Area and then walk down through the meadow with the junipers.
The HUVI was in the next patch of woods. Also seen from the Loop Trail:
PACIFIC LOONS; 2 on 17 Nov and a single on 18, 20, and 21 Nov. WA DeLorme

A PACIFIC LOON was at Lyons Ferry Park, Franklin Co WA on 14 Nov according
to Mike and MerryLynn Denny. Matt Bartels saw one on 16 Nov, along with a
half dozen AMERICAN TREE SPARROWS. Lyons Ferry Park is right in the corner
of Franklin, Whitman, Columbia and Walla Walla counties. Access via WA 261.

A PACIFIC LOON was at Sun Lakes State Park, Grant Co WA on 13 Nov according
to Doug Schonewald. Sun Lakes State Park is 7 miles southwest of Coulee

Near Wenatchee, Chelan Co WA on 15 Nov, Dan Smith and Dave Beaudette saw a
CATTLE EGRET at Chelan Falls Park, a THAYER'S GULL on a gravel bar in the
Columbia River north of Chelan Falls Park, a single PACIFIC LOON at the
Wells Dam overlook in Chelan Co and 2 more at the Starr Road boat launch
along US 97 just north of the Chelan Co line. WA DeLorme 67, A-6

A GREAT EGRET and a DUNLIN were at Mann Lake, east of Lewiston, Nez Perce Co
ID on 6 Nov according to Terry Gray. To get to Mann Lake from the north end
of Lewiston, take US 12 across the Clearwater River. At the traffic light,
turn left and go up the 21st Street hill. It will turn into Thain. A block
past where Thain goes from 4 lanes to 2, turn left onto Powers Avenue and
follow Powers a few miles to the grain towers and the reservoir. Also in
Lewiston on 6 Nov was a single CATTLE EGRET according to Terry. The bird was
in the median along US 95/US 12 three miles east of Lewiston, near the
Caterpillar equipment dealer and was seen through 10 Nov. ID DeLorme 54,

A first winter MEW GULL has been present in Sandpoint, Bonner Co ID since
the beginning of October, according to Earl Chapin. Earl also reports a
HARRIS' SPARROW has been persisting near Samuels, Lower Pack River, Bonner
Co ID. This area is just east of Sandpoint along ID 200. ID DeLorme 62,

Doug Ward near Hayden Lake, Kootenai Co ID reports an immature HARRIS'S
SPARROW near his home. Call him for directions: 208.762.7107.

On 10 Nov 5 male TRI-COLORED BLACKBIRDS were in a flock of 2000 blackbirds
near the Para Ponds, NW of Othello, Adams Co WA according to Randy Hill.
>From Othello go north on Broadway (west end of town extending north from WA
24) past the processing and storage facilities. When the road crosses the RR
tracks it becomes McManamon Road. Continue across the canal and down the
hill past the two potato sheds. The Para Ponds are just beyond on both sides

Seven TRUMPETER SWANS and a single, juvy ROSS'S GOOSE were near Cataldo,
Kootenai Co ID on 15 Nov. Lisa Hardy reports the swans were at the sawmill
pond on Dredge Road. ID DeLorme 60, BC-3 on the county line.

Matt Bartels reports a single EURASIAN WIGEON was on Bateman Island,
Kennewick, Benton Co WA on 16 Nov. WA DeLorme 39, BC-6.5.

A drake EURASIAN WIGEON was at Heyburn State Park near Plummer, Benewah Co
ID on 14 Nov according to Charles Swift. ID DeLorme 60, C-1.5.

On 20 Nov Carole Vande Voorde found a drake EURASIAN WIGEON and a single
LONG-TAILED DUCK in the West Pond along the Lewiston, Nez Perce Co ID levee.
To get there from the north side of Lewiston, take US 12 across the river
and stay in the right lane past the first traffic light. At the second light
(18th Street), turn right and go about 1 mile to the big pond, right before
the railroad bridge over the river.

BLUE JAYS are still everywhere, but Mike and MerryLynn Denny report a flock
15 birds in Dayton, Columbia Co WA on 20 Nov. The birds were at the corner
of South Fifth and Hannan streets east off of South Fourth, working in the
oak trees. Also with them, 10+ STELLER'S JAYS. WA DeLorme 42, B-1.
