Hello Tweets,

A belated report from yesterday(November 20th)by my mother and I from Luhr Beach in Thurston Co. with the following highlights between 1pm-2:30pm. We arrived when conditions were very calm and an obvious current line visible off Luhr Beach in the Nisqually Reach, then conditions declined with cold winds and rougher conditions. Most noteworthy waterfowl species consisted of Common Goldeneye,Red-breasted Mergansers and both Surf and White-winged Scoters and that relative abundance. Key highlights noted from this location included the following:

7 Red-throated Loons
24 Eared Grebes
1 pair of Black Scoters
105+ Bonaparte's Gulls
2 Western Gulls
2 Marbled Murrelets

On our way home we checked along the Nisqually Cut-Off Rd. to the McAllister Creek Fish Hatchery with the following highlights:

1 Am.Kestrel
1 adult Northern Shrike
1 Western Scrub Jay

Good birding,

Ruth and Patrick Sullivan
