Subject: [Tweeters] Gyr-Snohomish? West 90?

Patricia and Tweeters,
The west 90 Gyr was seen yesterday at about 2:30 first over the hunting area, and then perched on the 4th telephone pole to the east. Over the hunting area it was circling with a Peregrine and a juvenile Bald Eagle. Seemed rather curious to us until the Gyr broke away and landed on the pole. Then we noticed that the falcon had a Dunlin clutched in its talons. It proceeded to finish off the Dunlin, cleaned its bill and talons and then headed east toward the barn that is falling down near the 3 way stop sign. The Gyr alit in a tree there.
Overall a 4 falcon (sp) day with lots of other interesting birds. These included a pheasant at the Samish bridge hanging around with a bunch of Ravens. No Wurdemann's, or hybrid heron was seen there.
Hope this is helpful.

Has anyone seen the Gyrfalcon in Snohomish recently? How about the West 90?

Thanks,
Patricia Lott
