Subject: [Tweeters] Rough-legged Hawk still present in King Co. 11/22/04

Hi all -
The Rough-legged Hawk was still present at the same general location
where it was reported yesterday. I was in the area from about 1:30 -
3:00, and after the first hour of looking I found the RLHA perched in
trees along the Sammamish River. All three of the perchs it chose
while I watched were in trees along the slough, so that might be a
good place to focus on.

Also, there is a good parking lot off 116th, the next road south from
124th. The lot is just west of the slough, between Willow & the
Woodinville-Redmond Rd. From the lot, the Sammamish River trail
offers a nice walk north. When I first spotted the RLHA, it was a
good ways north of 124th. It then flew south and I left it perched
just south of 124th, along the slough. Try though I might, the
Rough-legged didn't seem to understand my suggestions that it proceed
south to Marymoor; sorry Michael!

Also in the area: 2 Northern Harriers & 1 Peregrine Falcon [along the
tree line running E-W from the [closed] restrooms along the north end
of the soccer fields.

>telephone pole adjacent to the Sammamish River (right at the
