The featured bird is PINE GROSBEAK.


Sightings for Saturday, November 27th:

At the Reifel Bird Sanctuary in Delta, a PINE GROSBEAK was seen near
the viewing tower with AMERICAN ROBINS, feeding in a crabapple tree.

At Minnekhada Regional Park in Coquitlam, a NORTHERN PYGMY-
OWL was seen on Oliver Road, which borders the park on the south.
It was seen 200 metres along the road up to Minnekhada Lodge.

In Surrey, the MOUNTAIN CHICKADEE was seen again at a feeder on the
northeast corner of 160th St. and 82nd Ave.

In Delta, at the foot of 72nd St. on Boundary Bay were 2 SNOWY OWLS
and 6 BARN SWALLOWS.


Sightings for Friday, November 26th:

At the Reifel Bird Sanctuary in Delta, the immature GOLDEN EAGLE was
seen. Also present were 4 SANDHILL CRANES, a BLACK-CROWNED
NIGHT-HERON, a MOUNTAIN CHICKADEE, a CHESNUT-BACKED
CHICKADEE, a BARN SWALLOW, and a HAIRY WOODPECKER.
A SNOWY OWL was seen south of the sanctuary.

At Brunswick Point in Delta, 4 SNOWY OWLS were seen. Two were seen
from the parking lot looking across Canoe Pass to Westham Island, and
2 were on the foreshore seen from the dyke. Also, a SWAMP SPARROW
was here.

At the Westham Island Bridge, 8 MUTE SWANS were seen.

At Deltaport Way and 57B St. were 2 AMERICAN KESTRELS.

Still in Delta, the SNOWY OWL was seen on the Boundary Bay foreshore
at the foot of 72nd St.

In Surrey at 160th St. and 82nd Ave., a MOUNTAIN CHICKADEE was seen
coming to a feeder.


Sightings for Thursday, November 25th:

At the Maplewood Conservation Area in North Vancouver, the RUSTY
BLACKBIRD and NORTHERN PYGMY-OWL continue. Also here were
12 COMMON REDPOLLS.

At Brunswick Point were 4 SNOWY OWLS, 5 AMERICAN TREE
SPARROWS, 2 SWAMP SPARROWS, and a GREAT HORNED OWL.

At the foot of 72nd St. in Delta were a SNOWY OWL, a SHORT-EARED OWL,
and 7 BARN SWALLOWS.

At Lighthouse Marine Park in Point Roberts was a SNOW BUNTING, 30
BRANT, 4 MARBLED MURRELETS and 4 PIGEON GUILLEMOTS.

At Green Timbers in Surrey, a SNOWY OWL was seen flying over. At Bear
Creek Park in Surrey, a BARRED OWL was seen.


Sightings for Wednesday, November 24th:

At Maplewood Conservation Area in North Vancouver, the NORTHERN
PYGMY-OWL was seen halfway between the nursery and the bridge.

At Brunswick Point in Delta were 3 SNOWY OWLS.


Sightings for Tuesday, November 23rd:

At Maplewood Conservation area in North Vancouver, a NORTHERN
PYGMY-OWL and RUSTY BLACKBIRD were seen. The blackbird was
in the swampy area near the southwest corner and the owl was nearer to
the Dollarton Highway

At the Reifel Bird Sanctuary in Delta was a late NORTHERN ROUGH-
WINGED SWALLOW.


Sightings for Monday, November 22nd:

At Maplewood Conservation Area, a NORTHERN PYGMY-OWL was seen
near the feeders at the entrance.


Sightings for Sunday, November 21st:

At Maplewood Conservation Area, the RUSTY BLACKBIRD was still
present.

In Delta, the GYRFALCON was present on the Boundary Bay
foreshore between 88th and 96th St. An AMERICAN KESTREL
was seen at 96th St. and Highway 99. 7 WESTERN MEADOWLARKS
were seen between 88th and 96th St on the road that parallels the
railway tracks.

In Surrey, the AMERICAN AVOCET was present at the mouth of the
Serpentine River just upstream from the railway trestle.

At Brunswick Point were a SWAMP SPARROW, an AMERICAN TREE
SPARROW, and an AMERICAN BITTERN.
