Tweeters, I had to go clear to the Canadian border to find out about parrots in my own backyard. Apparently there is a colony about 2 dozen Monk Parakeets doing quite well in Port Orchard! After reading about it in the Bellingham Herald, I heard it was on Channel 7 News (Seattle) tonight. They have a large nest on a communications tower near the intersection of Kitsap and Seattle, wherever that is. I hear they are thriving in Chicago, so why not here? We may be looking at a new permanent settler in the area.
