Birders,

Today the mud was perfect at the Yakima River Delta in Richland. Among 12
Pectoral Sandpipers there was a Sharp-tailed Sandpiper. It was viewed by
many local birders from the gravel "beach" that is midway along the dike
road that runs along the delta from Bateman Island to the Benton-Franklin
Bus Depot.

Also present are a Sabine's Gull, a Bonaparte's Gull and a Black-bellied
Plover as well as the more typical early October shorebirds and gulls.

As with the stint, there is never a guarantee that the water/mud will
remain for any length of time. There is a birdwalk on Bateman Island
tomorrow morning at 8 am. Meet at the Wye Neighborhood Park at the
entrance to Bateman Island.
