Tweets,
Saturday morning, October 2, near Tenino I encountered a probable
PACIFIC-SLOPE FLYCATCHER: Bill not short with orangey lower mandible;
eyering elongated/pointed behind the eye; slight crest toward back of head;
contrasty wing bars; raised or flipped tail upward frequently but not
regularly/rhythmically, with a few mild wing twitches. Underneath quite dull
gray-greenish with very little contrast and little if any yellowish. Loosely
associating with chickadees, kinglets, H's vireo in mostly deciduous growth,
mix of medium-high alder & maple and a small stand of taller cottonwood on a
hillside above Tenino. For this location seems pretty late.
Good birding!
