Last Feb., just after the intense snow storm, we had a Mt. Chickadee here along with a few Nuthatches and a small flock of Black Cap Chickadees. All were about starved for suet, and took turns edging each other out on my suet blocks. Later in very early spring just before another storm, there was a return of this small flock, but the Mt. Chickadee had invited along four more of its friends. When I posted it onto Tweeters, I was pretty discouraged by the replies I received, as I was told it was not probable that there were really the Mt. Chickadees here. It may just be my total assuption, but with all the recent sightings of Mt. Chickadees lately, it seems like the Mt. Chickadees are finding that there is much easier feeding down lower, and we may have more of these chickadees moving lower as time goes on. Any opinions versus this?
