I know that for most of you, a Stellar's Jay isn't news. But in the over 20 years I have been in Centralia, I have never seen a Stellar's here. Both Centralia and Chehalis seem to have been Stellar's free areas. Last week I was most surprised when a Stellar's approached my peanut feeder. Of course it was at the same time that a Scrub Jay, of which there are many, saw it also. The Stellar's has been feeding in the treeline beside my house off of the peanuts that the scrubs drop. It seems to be staying around, and was seen at the suet feeder today before it spotted a peanut at the foot of one of the laurels and dived out of sight. Has anyone else in the area noticed it or any others?
