Hi Tweeters,

Good week for raptors in the Kent area. On Frager
Road south of 212th one day I saw a Merlin on one of
the telephone posts and two days later I saw a huge
adult Bald Eagle on the same post.

At Boeing Pond an immature Northern Harrier has been
around for about two weeks. Beautiful bird. The
coloration is so rich, especially the tail feathers
when they are spread.

Last night I was just about to leave Boeing Pond to
meet someone for dinner when I saw a Perigrine fly out
and east over West Valley Highway and about a half a
block further out. It met another bird, captured it
in midair and flew back with it's dinner. It landed
on the Boeing building and I drove around for a better
look. In the scope the prey was a Rock Pigeon. Then
the Perigrine flew to the radio tower. Shortly after
resuming plucking a Red Tail Hawk flew in. The
perigrine then grabbed it's pigeon and flew off
vocalizing loudly. That is the first time I have
heard vocalization from a perigrine. I think it was
saying something like mine, mine, mine.
