a friend mentioned the Digital Morphology website to
me and I of course, had to share it with you! It won
one of the "top 50 science and technology websites"
awards and after you look at it, you will see why!

This website, hosted by the University of Texas at
Austin, shows digital CT scans of birds, dinosaurs,
Chitons, mammals, and other creatures. Particularly
lovely is the Golden-fronted Woodpecker skull from the
Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago. You can
clearly see the tongue as it loops over the top of the
head and down to the top of the upper mandible.
